Defining the source/grades of a type

All items in an Analyst's Notebook chart are given grading and source information. The grading and source can be derived from a field, a constant, or not used.

Grades

When assigning a grade to an item in a chart iBridge uses the following rules:
  • If the chart has a defined grading system and the string value provided by iBridge for the grade matches one of the defined values for the grade, it is placed onto the chart item.
  • If the chart has a defined grading system and the string value provided by iBridge does not match one of the defined values for the grade, the grade value is set to the last value in the chart's list of values for the grade and this is placed onto the chart item.
  • If the chart has a defined grading system and no value is provided for the grade by iBridge, iBridge does not take any action with respect to this grade on the chart item.
  • If the chart has no defined grading system iBridge does not create one, and consequently no grade is placed onto the chart item, even if one is provided by iBridge.
Note: Before assigning grades ascertain from the analysts what grading system they require. Match their grading system to the configuration.

Source Type and Source Reference

Both Source Type and Source Reference use the same way of assigning a value to the property as grades. They do not have to be one of the values in a grading system as they can take any value.
