Defining all fields of a type

The All Fields page of the Type Properties dialog allows shared properties to be set that apply to all fields of an item type.

To display the Identity page of the Type Properties either:
  • Right-click the header of an entity or link type table in the Types page, and select Properties > All Fields.
  • Double-click the header of an entity or link type table in the Types page, and select All Fields.
  • Right-click an entity or link type in the tree view of the Types page, and select Properties > All Fields.

Shared properties:

  • Show

Turn on Show to display all of the fields in the show dialog when Show is selected in Analyst's Notebook.

  • Cards

Turn on Cards to add additional information for all fields to a card on the entities or links which are shown when an analyst selects Populate Cards in Analyst's Notebook.

  • Find

Turn on Find to enable an analyst to perform a Find operation on all fields in Analyst's Notebook. Query is auto-checked and disabled. Turning off Find enables Query.

You cannot mark a memo or binary field as a Find field.

Find is not available for link types as you cannot perform a Find operation on a link type.

  • Query

Turn on Query to enable an analyst to perform a Query on all fields in Analyst's Notebook. A query is limited for binary fields to blank (contains no data) or not blank.

  • Case Sensitive

Turn on Case Sensitive to set case sensitivity on all fields to be All Case Sensitive.

The settings for case sensitivity in the iBridge configuration file must match the case sensitivity of the database. If case sensitivity is turned on for a field in the database which is case insensitive, there may be duplicate entities represented on a chart. The duplicate entities contain the same data but will have unique database keys. If case sensitivity is turned off for a field in the database which is case sensitive, entities may not be represented correctly on a chart. Also, operations such as show and expand may not produce the correct information.

Note: Case sensitivity only applies to text (string) fields.

Properties and conditions can also be set for fields in the table, see Defining Fields of a Type for more information.

If a property is set for a field in a Fields page, the relevant All fields check box is unavailable. If the All fields check box is overridden, the All fields selection overrides the field setting.
