Attribute classes are used to define the attribute types that can be added to chart
items. The general properties include the name, type and symbol to use when displaying the
attribute on the chart surface.
Use the General page of the Attribute Class dialog to set the general properties of
an attribute class:
-
Enter a Name for the attribute class.
-
Select the data type from the Type list. You will not be
able to edit the data type of the attribute class if it is being used by one or
more fields.
-
Specify a symbol by clicking Symbol and selecting a
symbol.
-
Set the options as required in the User rights
area:
Turn on Can be added to chart items and Can
be removed from chart items if you want the analyst to be
able to add, edit and remove instances of this attribute class to chart
items independently of the attributes set by iBridge. Be aware that this
allows the analysts to change the data on the chart from what is actually
stored in the database. The database itself will be unchanged so the chart
and the database may become inconsistent if you allow the analyst to do
this.
-
Select whether the attribute class is a user or system attribute class. If you
select User, the analysts will be able to delete or edit
the attribute class in the chart. Selecting System
prevents the analyst from doing this.
-
When you have defined the general properties, click on the
Properties tab to define more detailed
properties.
