Setting advanced properties
You can change the type of the database that is selected in iBridge Designer.
There are two reasons why you may need to do this:
- If you have configured, for example, an Access database which you have subsequently upgraded to SQL Server, you can edit the connection settings for your configuration file and then you must select the correct option in the Database system box.
- If you are trying to perform a configuration where the underlying database type is not one of those supported by this version of iBridge Designer, the database type will be set to unknown. You may wish to try setting this option to different database types.
To improve database performance:
- Turn on Compress on Issue to compress the .ibg file on issue. This removes references to the database schema items not used by the configuration making the file quicker to open.
- If your database is an SQL Server database that does not contain Unicode data queries are likely to perform better if the SQL Server Unicode DB check box is turned off.
Note: If your database is an SQL Server database that contains Unicode
data, turn on the SQL Server Unicode DB check box to ensure that
iBridge User functions correctly.
