Generating a configuration report

To generate a report of the configuration you have created:

  1. Select File > Generate Report.
  2. If you already have a configuration file open, this will automatically be entered in Configuration File. If no configuration file is open, set the configuration file that is to be the basis for the report.
  3. Select the location in which the report should be generated. The location is automatically entered as the same location as the configuration file, but you can change this by specifying a new location.
By default, the report contains the following:
Section Description
Summary The basic metrics of the configuration, for example how many tables, link and entity types, conditions, code lists and attributes it contains.
Configuration Information

Information about the configuration: the date that it was last modified, version information, such as the version of iBridge Designer that was used, the database type, connection parameters, comments and time zone information.

Note: If the database type is set to SQL Server and the SQL Server Unicode DB check box is turned on in the Advanced page of the Database Properties dialog, it is also displayed in the configuration report.
Connection History When the connection to the database was last modified.
Configuration History When the configuration was last issued.
Entity Type Information The properties for each entity type, any subtypes for the entity type and source and grade information.
Link Type Information The properties for each link type, any sub-types for the link type, and the link ends.
Abstract Type Information Any abstract types that are defined in the configuration.
Code List Information Any code list values that are defined in the configuration.
Attribute Class Information Any attribute classes that are defined in the configuration.
Table Information The database tables: table names, field names, field aliases, field types, field width and whether they are indexed.

By default, all the information detailed above is included. However, you can customize the information included in the report to your own needs by modifying the XML file.

If you want to distribute a configuration report to a third party, there are a number of supporting files that should be included with it.
