Exploring search results

Sometimes, your searches for data will return a lot of results. On other occasions, the differences between the records that are returned might not be clear. i2 Explore provides ways to refine your search results and to determine the records that are most relevant to your investigation.

To refine your search results, use the filters on the left side of the page:

  1. Select the type of data you're interested in.

Search results often contain a mix of different types of data, so choosing to see only one type can rapidly reduce the number of records in the list.

For example, you might only be interested in people that match your terms.

After you choose a data type, i2 Explore displays more ways to filter the remaining results.

  2. Select values (or ranges of values) that you want the records in your search results to match.

In the example above, the results are filtered to show only people with the first name "Nick" and a date of birth between 1967 and 1969.

To see more information about an individual record in the list of search results:

  1. Click the Inspect record button (the "eye" icon).
