Identifying the data sources that an item originates from

You can identify the data sources that an item on the charting surface originates from. After you connect to those data sources, you can use their features to gain more insight into the items of interest.

Procedure

  1. Right-click an item on the charting surface, and then select Edit Item Properties.
    The Edit window opens.
  2. Click Item Properties > Label & Identity.
The Database Identities list displays the name of the data sources that the item originates from, and the database keys that identify the source records.

What to do next

Choose a data source and connect Analyst's Notebook to it, then use the features that the connected source provides for working with its data. For example, you might add the network that the selected item is part of to the chart.
