Highlight queries in 360 View
When you examine Information Store records with 360 View, the highlight queries set up in your i2 Analyze deployment are used. Highlight queries automatically navigate the data in the Information Store on your behalf, and present answers to the questions that you ask most frequently.
If the subject record is a car, then a highlight query might find its recent owners or its recent sightings.
If the subject is a cellphone, then a highlight query might find which other phones it calls most often - or who owns the phones that it calls most often.
If the subject is a person, then a highlight query might return their bank accounts; or the bank accounts that the person's accounts transact with; or the owners of those transacting accounts.
Highlight queries perform multi-level conditional expand operations, maybe containing 5 or more steps. The results you see in 360 View are the entity records found by the final expand that the highlight query performs. In the Information Store, these records might be a number of links away from the subject record. The connections shown in 360 View might not represent simple links between end records. Both the highlight query headers, and all the listed records have a "Copy to chart" icon
. Unless the highlight query has returned no results, this option can be used to copy the query results to the chart. This helps you to easily see the path between an entity of interest, and its connections.
Highlight queries are configured by your system administrator. You should work closely with them to ensure that the queries you need are available.
