Adding more to your chart

In addition to adding entities and links to your chart directly, you can control how additional information is added from your external datasources.

Setting charting options
To set your charting options, right-click on your chart, and select Charting Settings. At any time, you can reset all of the options on the Charting Settings dialog back to their default settings by clicking Reset.
Setting link styles
For any of the expansion operations, you can define the style for the links which are added to the chart. You can decide what the label of the link should be and set whether to chart multiple links between two entities as individual links or merge them together.
Setting link ends
You can see the entity types that may appear at the end of a given link type and the possible directions of the link in the Link Ends dialog.
Setting types to include/exclude
When performing any of the expansion operations, you can choose to apply the operation only to specific entity and/or links types, filtering out any entity and link types you do not require.
Finding links between entities
If you have two or more entities on your chart, you can find any links in the database which directly connect these entities and add them to the chart.
Finding a path between two entities
iBridge allows you to find out whether two entities on your chart are linked, directly or indirectly, within your database, that is you can find out if there is a path in your database between two charted entities. A Find Path operation may reveal more entities and links that exist in the database, and add them automatically to the chart. It is similar to the Analyst's Notebook Find Path operation, although the items in the path must be in the database but do not have to already be on the chart.
Expanding your chart
iBridge allows you to expand your current chart by adding further chart items from the database which are linked to your existing chart items. There are settings which allow you to specify how the Expand operation is performed, for example to set the number of expansion levels and whether to include common neighbors and connecting links.
Exploring your database
iBridge allows you to interactively browse your database, starting with a single entity expansion. You can then continue expanding one entity at a time within the Explore window. At any time, you can select one or more entities and/or links and add them to the chart.
Creating and editing sets
Sets allow you to name a collection of items. When you have charted a number of entities and links, you can include them in a set so that they can be easily recharted on subsequent occasions. You can create sets for your own private use or you can make them public for use by others involved in your investigation.
