Displaying data records

Depending on the data source, data records are attached to items when you add data from a data source. Data records contain data that is copied from the source record, so that you can view any copied data that is not displayed on the charting surface.

About this task

You can view the data records that are attached to a chart item that has one or more database identities. A database identity uniquely identifies a source record in the originating data source.

Procedure

To show the Data Records pages for an item:
  1. Right-click the item on the chart and click Edit Item Properties.
  2. Choose a database instance folder, and then click a data record in it.
Note: Data records are displayed only when one item is selected on the chart.
Analyst's Notebook displays the data in the data record. Data records are intentionally read-only.

What to do next

A data source might provide the facility to view the current data about the item, in the data source. You can see changes that were made in the data source since the item was charted.
