Creating links
After you create the entities at each end of the link, you can add one or more links between them. The link represents the relationship between the entities.
Procedure
To create a link between two entities:
- Select New > Link > link type.
- Enter the link details.

Select the two entities to be connected. For each entity:

Click Select.
You might find the options are restricted. For example, when you select a record for a link end, the options are restricted to the allowed entity types at the ends of the link type.
- Enter the values that you want to find. You do not need to enter the whole value.
- Click Find. The found records are then listed. Click each record in turn to check it.
- Select the entity that you want to use, then click OK to review its details by right-clicking on the icon and selecting from the menu.

Click Select.
- Optional:
Set the direction of the link by clicking the arrow on the line between the entities and from
the Direction menu, selecting Add Arrow. You can
reverse the direction of the link by selecting
Direction > Reverse Arrow.
Alternatively you can use the following keyboard shortcuts to set the link direction:
- No link direction: Press Ctrl+N
- Right: Press Ctrl+R
- Left: Press Ctrl+L
- Both: Press Ctrl+B
- Optional:
Set the strength of the link - this indicates whether the link is confirmed, unconfirmed, or
tentative. Click the arrow on the line between the entities and select one of the options from the
Strength menu.
Alternatively you can use the following keyboard shortcuts to set the link strength:
- Confirmed: Press Ctrl+O
- Unconfirmed: Press Ctrl+U
- Tentative: Press Ctrl+T
