Client file types
An installation of an iBase client application on a user's workstation includes several files that are important to the operation of the software. You must take these files into account when performing a backup.
The following list contains names and descriptions of all the types of files that might be present in a client installation.
- scheduler_database_name.mdb
- This file is the database that controls the imports and exports that iBase Scheduler performs. The location of this file is specified during the installation of iBase Scheduler.
- CommandGroups.mdb
- This file defines the set of command groups for use in security files. It is installed with iBase on each workstation, but might have been modified to define a different set of command groups. - The file is usually located in the Resources subfolder of the iBase installation folder, but iBase might have been directed to look for it in another folder.
- IconList.txt
- This file defines the icons that are available to iBase, and the mappings between the displayed name and the operating system file name. - The file is usually located in the Resources subfolder of the iBase installation folder, but iBase might have been directed to look for it in another folder.
- WSExclude.txt, FTExclude.txt
- These files define the exclusion lists for iBase's Word Search and Full-Text Search features. The files are usually located in the Resources subfolder of the iBase installation folder.
- i2.wor, i2.mxd, i2.apr
- These files define GIS workspaces that iBase uses. They are installed with iBase GIS Interfaces on each workstation, but might have been modified since installation.
