Installing i2 iBase Notebook Extension

The i2 iBase Notebook Extension provides access to iBase functionality from 64-bit versions of Analyst's Notebook and Analyst's Notebook Premium.

Before you begin

You should review the release notes on the i2 iBase support page to ensure your setup meets the prerequisites and system requirements.

About this task

i2 Analyst's Notebook 10 and later is a 64-bit application and requires a plug-in to work with i2 iBase. The iBase Notebook Extension has its own installer, which is separate from the iBase installer. You need to install the Microsoft Access database engine 2016 (64-bit) to use the iBase Notebook Extension installer.

Note: The iBase Notebook Extension plug-in is only needed for Analyst's Notebook 10 and later. You do not need to install the plug-in to use iBase with earlier versions of Analyst's Notebook.

Procedure

  1. Extract the product files and extension file from your downloaded distribution.

  2. Unzip the files into individual folders.

  3. Install Analyst's Notebook.

  4. Install iBase.

  5. Install iBase Notebook Extension.

What to do next

When you have completed the installations, open Analyst's Notebook. On the Home tab, you should see the Data Sources option that gives access to iBase.
