Installing i2 Explore for iBase
You can install or upgrade i2 Explore for iBase by extracting the contents of the release archive.
Before you begin
i2 Explore for iBase requires the iBase database and security database that it is connecting to be upsized to SQL Server. In addition to this, the machine on which you are installing i2 Explore for iBase must have either SQL Server or SQL Server client tools installed.
i2 Explore for iBase uses the iBase Search 360 feature — this capability must be enabled on the iBase database that you are connecting to before starting the installation process.
An internet connection is preferred but not required for installing i2 Explore for iBase. If you do not have an internet connection, you need to supply other prerequisites detailed in the Installing in an Offline Environment section.
New installation
A new installation is for environments where i2 Explore for iBase has not been installed before.
Extract the explore-for-ibase.zip archive to a location of your choice.
Note: i2 recommends that you extract the archive into a directory called explore-for-ibase.

Upgrading a previous deployment

If you have an existing i2 Explore for iBase deployment, you must back up your existing installation directory and stop the running services before you extract the new version.
Back up your existing <installation_location>/analyze-deployment-tooling directory.
Open a Command Prompt window and navigate to the <installation_location>/analyze-deployment-tooling directory of your existing deployment.
Use the command line tools to stop all running services:
setup.exe -t stopExtract the explore-for-ibase.zip archive over the top of your existing installation directory, replacing the existing files.
Important: The archive contains an analyze-deployment-tooling directory at its root. You must ensure that the extracted analyze-deployment-tooling directory aligns with your existing analyze-deployment-tooling directory. If the directories are misaligned, the deployment will not work correctly.
Continue with Accepting the license.
Accepting the license
After you extract the archive, you must accept the license agreement before you can configure and deploy the application.
Read the license agreement in the <installation_location>/license directory.
In the <installation_location> directory, open the license_acknowledgment.txt file in a text editor.
Change the value of LIC_AGREEMENT from REJECT to ACCEPT and save the file.
Note: The deployment does not proceed unless the license agreement is accepted.
Open a Command Prompt window and navigate to the <installation_location>/analyze-deployment-tooling directory.
Run the i2 Explore Administration Console from the Command Prompt:
AdminConsole.exeNote: This is required before configuring or deploying i2 Explore for iBase. This starts the Administration Console and ensures a configuration is copied from templates if one does not already exist from a previous deployment.
