Selecting Association and Timeline option combinations

To get good results when charting iBase records, you need to define what aspects of the iBase record the chart items should reflect. You do this by specifying the charting style, charting scheme, and labeling scheme.

About this task

Charting Scheme

How information that is stored in iBase records is converted into Analyst's Notebook chart item properties.

Charting Style

The type of chart that you are trying to create.

Labeling Scheme

What information is used to construct the item labels.

You can store up to eight preset combinations, and if these combinations are set up, you can select a combination from the Association & Timeline Options list.

The name of the current combination is saved with the chart. When the chart is reopened, the combination is found and selected if possible.

Note: If iBase displays Custom in the Data Sources Association & Timeline Options list, and the Edit button is not enabled, this is because your current options differ from those previously selected. For example, you are working with "Combination 1" which has the charting scheme set to "Charting Scheme 1". You then chart some iBase items with a charting scheme of "Copy of Charting Scheme 1". This differs from the charting scheme set in the active options for "Combination 1", so the Data Sources pane displays Custom rather than "Combination 1" because a difference in charting scheme is detected.

Procedure

To edit a combination, click Edit to the right of the list. For more information about selecting a charting scheme, charting settings, and labeling schemes, see Editing iBase combinations.
