By setting the direction of the links that you import, you can show the flow of money in a financial transaction, for example, or the instigator of a telephone call. You can give every link the same direction, or you can set the link direction from values in the incoming data.
To set the direction of an imported link:
- Select a link in the import design.
The property table is displayed to the right of the import design and contains the Direction property.
- In the property table, browse in the Direction row.
The Edit window opens.
- To assign the same direction to each link that is imported as a result of the design, select Direction from... and then choose a direction from the list.
- To assign direction from values in the incoming data:
- Click Single column, and select the column that contains the data that determines link direction.
- In each Value field, enter the value that indicates that the link direction is set as illustrated. The Value field is case-sensitive.
- In the Any other value list, select a direction to assign any link that is not assigned a direction as a result of the previous step.
- Click OK.
