Drawings

Some of the geospatial analysis tools in Analyst's Notebook Connector for Esri require you to add shapes to your map before you can run them. By using different shapes, you can analyze geospatial information in different ways.

For example:

  • You can draw a freehand line along a section of a road, and draw a buffer that encloses everything within 10 miles of any point along it. You can then go on to query for any burglaries that took place in that area in the last month.
  • You can draw a shape such as a circle or a polygon, and query your data for schools that lie within that area.
