You can print a chart as a PDF document. To protect the document, you can set PDF
security options.
Procedure
- Optional:
Set security options for the PDF document.
-
To print the chart as PDF, click the Publish tab, and then in the
Print group, click the arrow below Print to PDF. In
the menu, click Print to PDF.
The Save As window opens.
-
In the Save As window, navigate to the directory in which you want to save
the file.
-
In the File name box, enter a name for the file to be saved.
-
Click Save. If you previously set a password, the
Confirm Password window opens. Enter the password if
specified, then click OK. Analyst's Notebook confirms that the PDF file was
successfully saved, and displays options to open or share the file.
-
Select the option you require and click OK.
You can open the file, view it in Windows Explorer or create an email
with the PDF as an attachment.
Note: Analyst's Notebook returns an "Unable to print to PDF" error
if your computer has enabled the Windows Policy security option "System
cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing".
The Print to PDF function employs the third-party component PDFSharp, which uses an
MD5 algorithm that is not FIPS compliant. If you are unable to print to PDF, contact
your system administrator.
