Changing a database

You can change to another iBase database if it has the same .ids security file, without the need to log in again.

About this task

You can only have one database open at a time in any iBase session. If you want to quickly change to another database that shares the same security file, you can use the Change Database option.

Procedure

  1. Select File > Change Database. The confirmation message is displayed. Click Yes to close the current database.

  2. In the Open Database window, select a database from the available .idb files. Click Open.

  3. The iBase database opens.

  4. Click OK.

Note: If your chosen database is associated with a different .ids security file, you are automatically logged out and prompted to login to the .ids for the database you want to connect to.
