Release notes - i2 Explore for iBase 1.3.0

This document provides an overview of the new features, system requirements, and known issues for i2 Explore for iBase 1.3.0.

Important notices

⚠️ Installation

i2 Explore requires that at least i2 iBase version 10.1.0 is installed and properly configured in accordance with your organization's specifications. For more information about installing and deploying i2 Explore, see the i2 Explore for iBase documentation.

Important: i2 Explore for iBase leverages i2 Analyze as its backend to provide users access to the Explore web application. By default, the installation scripts for i2 Analyze automatically download the latest supported versions of Java, Open Liberty, Solr, and Zookeeper to ensure proper installation. Users, however, have the option to override these default versions and specify particular versions as needed. For detailed instructions, refer to i2 Explore for iBase: Installing in an offline environment. In this version of i2 Explore for iBase (version 1.3), users are required to manually specify the version of Solr to be used (only Solr needs to be manually added). This is necessary due to the inclusion of a patched Solr version, created to address the deprecation of WMIC support on Windows. The patched version, file named solr.tgz, is included alongside the i2 Explore for iBase installer. While Solr is aware of the WMIC deprecation issue and aims to release version 9.10 later this year, it was not ready at the time of this release, necessitating the inclusion of the patch.

⚠️ Configuration

To use the text search functionality in i2 Explore for iBase, Search 360 must be enabled in the connected iBase database.
