Additional new icons
New, additional customer requested icons are available for Analyst's Notebook Premium, and for the i2 Analyze server, i2 Notebook, and i2 Investigate.
The following are some examples.
Performance improvements
- A number of commonly used features of Analyst's Notebook Premium have been optimized to take advantage of the 64-bit architecture, allowing the user to more easily analyze larger charts using these features. The following features have been optimized:
- Time Wheel
- Bar Charts and Histograms
- List Most Connected
- List Items
- Social Network Analysis
Usability improvements
Based on customer feedback, usability improvements have been incorporated in several features.
- The pane for the Linked Entities tool now includes a direction column
- Copy is now available from the Linked Entities pane
- List Records can now export records directly to an Excel file or delimited text file. When exporting to Excel each exported item type has a separate tab in the spreadsheet.
- The text filter in List Records can be cleared by clicking the X in the filter
- When creating an import specification the Trim Characters action is enabled by default for all columns. This helps with matching during imports by removing extra whitespace characters.
Single sign on for i2 Esri Maps
- The optional i2 Esri Maps feature of Analyst's Notebook Premium now supports Esri Single Sign On (SSO) for accessing Esri map services. Users from organizations that have set up Esri SSO on their server can now access Esri map services without needing to repeatedly re-enter login credentials.
Support for Esri ArcGIS Enterprise 11
- This release adds support for i2 Esri Maps to connect Esri ArcGIS Enterprise 11.
Flexible chart item types and properties
Custom chart item types and properties can now be added to enable the capture of data on a chart that does not align with the information store or external search schemas. This allows the unaligned data to be used and analyzed alongside aligned chart data from the information store or external searches.
- Custom item types are added from the Analyst's Notebook Premium palette.
- Custom property types can be added to schema item types or custom item types from the Record Inspector.
- The custom item and property types can be set to persist for new charts if required.
- Custom item and property types can be imported from existing import specifications that contain custom items.
Set default charting scheme
- Analyst's Notebook Premium users can select which charting scheme is applied to their charts by default, allowing them to work consistently with multiple charts depending on their charting requirements.
Auto-add to maps configuration
The option to control whether new data is automatically added to a map can be set as a default by the user.
Import undo
- Once an Analyst's Notebook Premium import has completed the Undo tool can be used to remove the imported data from the chart in a single step.
Enhanced language support
This release adds support for three additional new languages - Ukrainian, Russian and Bulgarian.
The Information Store and External Searches capabilities are now translated for the following additional languages: Bulgarian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Turkish and Ukrainian.
Source Reference image display
The Record Inspector will now display an image in the header for records where a source reference image is available.
Display environment name
Analyst's Notebook Premium and i2 Notebook can now display the name of the i2 deployment they are connected to. This can be helpful for users who connect to several i2 Analyze servers for different analytical purposes.
- The deployment display name is configured on the i2 Analyze server.
Send highlight panel results to chart
When exploring data in 360 View in Analyst's Notebook Premium or i2 Notebook a selected record can be added directly to a chart, making it simpler for newly discovered connections to be transferred to a chart for further analysis.
Support for system matching rules
When new data is added to an i2 Notebook Chart from either the information store or external searches, system matching rules are automatically applied to minimize the occurrence of duplicate data on the chart.
System matching rules are configured by the system administrator on the i2 Analyze server.
Copy and Paste web chart items
- Chart Items in the i2 Notebook web client can be copied and pasted from one web chart to another using either the buttons from the ribbon menu, the right click context menu, or using keyboard shortcuts; making it easier to work with the same data in multiple web charts without the need to rerun searches.
Enhanced chart record data
- When an i2 Notebook chart record is used to seed a search against an external data source and the search returns additional information about that record then the chart record is updated with that new additional information.
SOLR 9
- The i2 Analyze server has been updated to use SOLR 9, the latest version of SOLR, to ensure the latest security features and fixes are implemented.

Upgrading
To ensure compatibility, i2 recommends that the i2 Analyst's Notebook Premium desktop client and i2 Analyze server are upgraded to the latest versions at the same time.
i2 do not support mixed version deployments, but to assist with larger deployment upgrades it is possible to use the i2 Analyst's Notebook Premium desktop client or an i2 Analyze server from a previous version with the corresponding latest versions in this release, however some functionality might not be available in these configurations. Mixed version deployments should be aligned as quickly as possible to ensure product support.
Contact i2 Support to understand which versions can be used together in the short term for an unsupported mixed version deployment.
