Licensing for administrators
When you purchase i2 software that includes Analyst's Notebook or iBase, you receive an entitlement for a number of licenses. When you activate that entitlement, you specify what kind of licenses you want them to be. You can activate portions of your entitlement at any time, creating licenses of any type, until your entitlement is used up.
Note: Activating your entitlement to create licenses is distinct from what users do when they "activate" an application by providing it with a license.
To activate an entitlement, and to manage the licenses that you create, you use the i2 Entitlement Management System (EMS) portal. If your organization will use network licenses, you'll also need to install Thales' Sentinel RMS License Manager software on your network.
Subscription & Support entitlements
You might receive an entitlement that has Subscription & Support in the name. This is not a license. Subscription & Support entitlements have an expiration date and define your access to creating support cases, and downloading i2 software updates, fixes and releases. These entitlements are included for support coverage tracking purposes only, they are not intended for activation or license deployment.
