Exporting group configuration
System user groups are created through the provisioning process, but you can create and manage custom groups only through the i2 Analyze Server Admin console. To back up group configuration, or to initialize a new server with your custom groups, you can export the current configuration from the admin console.
About this task
When you export the group configuration, it's in the form of a JSON file that includes information about user groups, their members, and the sharing and visibility settings for each group.
You can choose to export all groups, or only the custom groups:
If you export only custom groups, then any references to system groups (as members of custom groups, for example) are removed.
If you include system groups, you must make sure when you import the configuration that those groups are provisioned in the target system.
Procedure
To export the group configuration from a live deployment of i2 Analyze:
Open a web browser and navigate to <i2-Analyze-URL>/admin, where <i2-Analyze-URL> is the URL used to access your i2 Analyze deployment.
Log in with your credentials. Then, in the toolbar on the left, click the User group management button
.In the toolbar at the top of the page, click Export to display the options for exporting the group configuration.
Click Export custom groups or Export all groups to download the group-configuration-init.json file.
What to do next
After you download the configuration file, you can add it to your backup regime or use it to initialize a new deployment of i2 Analyze.
